Job Overview
Qualcomm multimedia audio systems group develops and commercializes a wide range of advanced audio signal processing technologies, including echo cancellation, noise suppression, speech and audio enhancements, active noise cancellation, spatial audio effects, voice activation, audio context detection etc. These technologies are widely adopted in mobile phones, IoT (internet of things), smart speakers, virtual reality, and automotive applications. An Audio Systems Engineer is expected to execute through the entire life cycle of the technologies, including problem definition, algorithm development and simulation, algorithm implementation with popular programming language such as C, guiding technology implementation teams onto embedded platforms or hardware, engaging with leading customers to ensure successful product launch, and providing trainings to both internal teams and customers. The systems engineer will have the opportunity to work with multiple internal teams across different time zones and may have up to 10% or less business travel on average. We are seeking candidates with technical excellence in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and/or Machine learning, with the creativity and initiative to apply their technical knowledge to exciting new audio technologies for mobile, automotive and other consumer devices. Responsibilities: The selected candidate will have responsibilities in one or more of the following areas: Audio technology research and algorithm development, leading to both reference design and intellectual property (IP); Algorithm implementation using fixed point arithmetic; Demo prototyping and preparation; Documentation and support to internal teams for technology productization. Supporting marketing team for technology promotion; Working with both internal teams and customers for successful commercialization. Technology evaluation and competitive analysis.
